So the multiple-choice question I threw out there was actually a trick question to which there are two answers:

a) and b)

Here is how we got the lights up.
I repelled out the bathroom window (we chose me because Ryan’s heavier and obviously a stronger base!) to do a couple of the staples, and then for the last two staples–yes, me at the top of the ladder which was set on an angle resting on the corner of the house, cursing, sweating, and laughing nervously. And the neighbors offered moral support so basically all of you were right. :)

Another Thanksgiving success; Aunt Tricia’s festivities always exceed expectations, the food, the company, the scenery. I believe I spent the majority of the day with this girl:

on the playground, that’s right, climbing, sliding, swinging, jumping on the trampoline? It’s hard to believe just last Thanksgiving we were passing around our little sleepy newborn Liv and now she’s doing this.

This year we invited Aunt Heather along! I loved having Thanksgiving with my sister, especially getting to test her chocolate mousse pies and chocolate mint cookies! L & M barely made an appearance aside from the actual meal-the rest of the time was split between volleyball with cousins and Aunt Tricia’s Barbie house. I believe there were tears shed on the way home.

Which brings us to Black Friday… Ryan and I try our hand at Christmas lights. Who knew we bought a house which very left corner could not be reached when standing on the roof?
Ok, readers, how did we install our left corner Christmas lights? Did we:

a) Attach a rope to Leslie so she could repel from the bathroom window with a staple gun in hand
b) Set up the 20-foot ladder to balance on the actual corner of the house and climb to the top step or
c) Recruit our tallest neighbor who is in fact retired from the navy and looked like he was up to the challenge

Hee hee, how well do you know the Barlows? (How’s that for a Black Friday challenge?)
